BCCC MARCH MADNESS CHALLENGE 2018
March Madness is back! Don't know what that is? No problem, keep reading...
BCCC challenges current and former students, faculty and staff to join this year's March Madness Challenge. Enter up to three brackets (e.g. one from your heart, one from your brain, one with crazy upsets) to compete for ultimate bragging rights at BCCC. Join the rest of us in our drive to knock off last year's Overall and Staff Champion Tony Moore, Student Champion Josh Toler, and Faculty Champion Jim Hill. We're coming for you guys! To get started, follow the link below...and hurry, first games tip Thursday, March 15, at noon!
Don't know much about college basketball or brackets? No worries! Filling out a bracket doesn't take long. Mathematical odds of picking a perfect bracket are 1 in 9.2 quintillion. Even factoring in favorites and underdogs, odds are estimated at 1 in over 100 billion - so basically impossible. The tournament is notorious for upsets and destroyed brackets. So, its entirely possible you could beat someone who thinks they know everything about college basketball. How great would that be!?
More Info: A bracket is just a pairing of all Division I NCAA Men's College Basketball match ups in the year-end championship tournament. Basically, you just try to pick the winner of each game all the way through the championship. Games begin this Thursday, March 15 at noon with the championship played Monday, April 2. Each team is "seeded" between #1 and #16, with #1 being the strongest team. You score points for each correct pick - 1 point in the first round, 2 points in the second round, 4 in the third round, 8 in the fourth round, and so on. In addition, you earn bonus points equal to the seed of the team you picked, making big upset picks very valuable. Choose carefully though, you have to pick all games in advance, so an incorrect choice means that "branch" of your bracket is dead. So, what are you waiting for?
